Unlike
some small weather stations, the WS-7013BZ simultaneously
displays indoor and outdoor temperatures, so you don't
have to actively select one or the other for viewing. If you're using
more than one remote transmitter, you will have to select
the desired channel for the outdoor temperature display. The station keeps a record of the minimum and maximum
indoor and outdoor temperatures it has recorded (since the
last memory reset) and, for outdoor temperatures only, the times
of their
occurrence. These are
available at the push of a button. You can
easily reset the temperature memory any time you want.
Not
only will the WS-7013BZ operate with up to three remote
transmitters, two different optional transmitters are available.
The TX6U (like the included TX2U) reports outdoor temperature. The TX3UP
senses temperature via a probe for use in pools, spas,
soil, etc., and has a display.
The TX6U can be used in sub-freezing temperatures when equipped
with AA lithium batteries instead of alkaline. At the time
of this writing, at least one manufacturer is offering AAA
lithium batteries, so this is now technically true for the
TX2U, and TX3UP as well. A
Note on Remotes with Displays:
A remote with lithium batteries should operate down to
about -40°F
(-40°C). However, if that remote has a display, the
display will probably fade out at about 0°F
(-17.8°C). This is normal behavior for liquid crystals,
and the display will reappear when the temperature warms
up.
The
WS-7013BZ is cleanly and simply styled, with a two-tone case in
semi-metallic colors that are not exactly shades of silver
but not exactly shades of gold, either. We'd say they fall
somewhere between the two, and they look great
together. An included detachable stand
allows the station to be used as a freestanding unit, or
it can be mounted on a wall. With its small size (under
4.5 inches tall), handsome looks, and useful features, the
WS-7013BZ is equally well suited to home and office environments
where space is at a premium.
Please Note: This product comes
in a clear plastic blister pack that, once cut open, cannot be resealed.
Because opening a blister pack renders the enclosed product unfit for
resale, non-defective products whose blister packs have been opened are
not returnable. If you receive this product and it is not to your liking
(for example, if its appearance does not meet your expectations), please
leave the blister pack unopened and contact us for return instructions.
Defective products, however, can be returned for replacement. Again,
