Wireless Humidity & Temperature Sensor

The La Crosse Technology TX21U-IT is a replacement wireless temperature and humidity sensor for the WS-9023U-IT and  WS-8300U-IT weather stations. The La Crosse Technology weather instruments that display outdoor temperature or temperature and humidity require wireless remote sensors to sense the weather data and transmit it to the station. All stations include the necessary sensor. Several stations come with one sensor but can receive signals from up to three, or even five, in which case any additional sensors desired must be ordered separately.

    (-40° to 59.9°C with 0.1°C resolution)

    1% to 99% with 1% resolution
  • Temperature checking interval: every 4.5 seconds
  • Transmission interval: every 10 seconds for first 3 minutes, every 1 minute thereafter
  • Transmission frequency: 915 MHz
  • Transmission range: 330 feet (100m) in open space with no interference

The instructions for your La Crosse Technology weather station specify which wireless remote sensors can be used with that station. The TX21U-IT Temperature Sensor reports outdoor temperature (or any other location whose temperature you wish to know) to the station. This sensor does not have an LCD temperature display for viewing at the location where it is installed. This sensor is wall-mounted, transmits 915 MHz signals and typically operates on two AA alkaline batteries (not included). Average battery life is approximately one year. The TX21U-IT is particularly well suited to extended low temperature operation.  As the TX21U-IT uses AA batteries, you may use Lithium AA cells, which provide superior operation in sub-zero temperature conditions.
