very useful weather forecaster and thermometer. The WS-7211U weather forecaster has a

The La Crosse WS-7211U is
just under 7.5 inches tall, champagne gold in color, with silver
trim around the display and buttons. The unit may be hung on
a wall, or can stand on its own with a detachable stand. |

| The top segment
of the La Crosse WS-7211U displays one of three weather-forecasting icons,
plus a barometric pressure tendency arrow, predicting the weather for the
next 12 to 24 hours. The second display segment of the unit displays
the current time. The third segment displays the current indoor
temperature. The fourth segment displays the temperature transmitted
from a remote location by the included TX6U wireless remote. Up to
two optional additional remote transmitters may be used to monitor
additional remote locations, selectable by pressing the "CH"
button. Recorded minimum and maximum temperature values for the local and
each remote location (since last reset) may be displayed at the push of a
button.
Three different remote
transmitters are available. The TX6U (the one included
with the station) reports outdoor temperature only and has no display. The TX3UP senses temperature via a waterproof probe on a 10-foot
(3-meter) wire for use in pools, spas, soil, etc., and has a display.
Because the WS-7211U does
not have some of the added features of the more expensive units, such as
an atomic clock, backlit display, large digits, or alarm clock functions,
it can provide indoor outdoor thermometer and forecaster functions for a
very reasonable price. |
